Purpose:
Assist customer and internal staff to identify and obtain the correct parts needed for repairs or manufacturing.
Knowledge:
Customer and Personal Service – Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
Sales and Marketing – Knowledge of principles and methods for showing, promoting, and selling products or services.
Computers and Electronics – Knowledge of electronic equipment, and computer hardware and software, including applications such as email and web browsers.
Mechanical – Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.

- Advise customers on substitution or modification of parts when identical replacements are not available.
- Examine returned parts for defects, and exchange defective parts or refund money.
- Mark and store parts in stockrooms according to prearranged systems.
- Discuss use and features of various parts, based on knowledge of machines or equipment.
- Demonstrate equipment to customers and explain functioning of equipment.
