The HP450/VHP400 is powered by a Cummins QSB 4.5L Tier 4 Final (T4F)-compliant engine. The Cummins engine — engineered with DOC and SCR emissions technology — in a new smaller sized package than T4i. This package is a compact, user friendly design with a two to one Diesel exhaust Fluid (DEF) vs Diesel fuel fill ratio. This is ratio is important for rental companies where compressors are used by many customers and may not use to filling with two fluids in newer diesel engines .
Among the newly redesigned components on this model is the Mini-Port full gauge control panel. Standard on the panel is a tachometer display that allows the operator to see the selected engine and airend temperatures and pressure, as well as percentage of fan speed and engine load. The operator can set service intervals, languages and display features, for an improved operator interface.
Also included on the Mini Port control panel is a switch that allows the operator to easily change the pressure and flow setting during compressor operation. The dual pressure feature can create either low airflow with high pressure or low pressure and high flow.
Service points are easily accessible without removing the canopy, along with simplified wiring and piping that also contributes to ease of servicing. Automatic shutdowns, relative to several critical operational parameters, help to avoid costly damage and subsequent repairs.
